## Vercel Web Analytics Implementation Successfully implemented Vercel Web Analytics integration for the AlphaCouncil AI project. ### Summary Integrated Vercel Web Analytics into a Vite + React TypeScript application to track user analytics and page views when deployed to Vercel. ### Changes Made #### Modified Files: 1. **package.json** - Added `@vercel/analytics` package (version ^1.4.0) to dependencies 2. **index.tsx** (Main entry point) - Imported the `inject` function from `@vercel/analytics` - Called `inject()` at the start of the application to initialize analytics tracking - This was placed before the React root initialization to ensure analytics are loaded early ### Implementation Details **Framework Choice:** This project is a React application using Vite (not Next.js or another framework), so according to the Vercel Web Analytics guide, the `inject()` function was the appropriate choice. This function: - Adds the tracking script to the application - Should only be called once (done in the entry point) - Must run in the client (which it does in index.tsx) - Note: There is no route support with this implementation, but that's acceptable for this application ### Pre-Deployment Requirements Before this analytics integration becomes active, you must: 1. Enable Web Analytics on the Vercel dashboard for this project (Analytics tab > Enable) 2. Deploy the application to Vercel (deployment will add new routes at `/_vercel/insights/*`) ### Post-Deployment Once deployed to Vercel and users visit the site, you can: 1. View analytics data in the Vercel dashboard (Analytics tab) 2. Track visitor metrics and page views automatically 3. Monitor network requests for `/_vercel/insights/view` calls to verify tracking is working ### Testing - ✅ Build completed successfully with no errors - ✅ No TypeScript compilation errors - ✅ Project maintains existing functionality ### Notes - The package-lock.json is in .gitignore per project configuration, so only source files are staged - Analytics will only track data after deployment to Vercel (development environment will not send data) - The implementation is minimal and non-breaking - existing code and functionality remain unchanged Co-authored-by: Vercel <vercel[bot]@users.noreply.github.com>
